The post-production of the middle-length film Ata, the last fiction by Cagla Zencirci & Guillaume Giovanetti, is getting to an end. Shot in super 16 mm with non-professional actors, it deals with the meeting in France of a Turkish lady and an Uyghur man from China. After the image editing, the sound editing and the sound mixing, Çagla Zencirci & Guillaume Giovanetti start the colour correction. The first 35 mm print will be soon ready, and the film will be able to start its carreer. >> See the first images of the film

ShantyGARDENtown, the last documentary by Çagla Zencirci & Guillaume Giovanetti, which had taken part into the Berlin Today Award competition of the last Berlinale, and awarded the Best Short Documentary Award in Barcelona, will compete in the Tirana International Film festival, the main one in Albania, in November 2007. It will be the first film of the co-directors to be screened in this country of the Balkans.

The last film by Çagla Zencirci & Guillaume Giovanetti, Ata, has just been awarded the Public Prize at the Fuji Tous Courts screening in Paris. Therefore the film is selected for a new screening in June in the Cinéma des Cinéastes, when it will compete for the FujiFilm Award.

The very first film by Çagla Zencirci & Guillaume Giovanetti had been screened for the first time in the frame of the Créteil International Women Film Festival, the main women festival in the world. It will also be the case for the last middle-length film of the co-directors, Ata, which will be in international competition in the 30th edition of this event. It will happen from March the 14th to the 23rd, and among others, a Public Prize will be awarded. Come as many as possible!

Ata, the last middle-length film by Çagla Zencirci & Guillaume Giovanetti, will be screened in Paris in the frame of a programme selected by Fuji, Fuji Tous Courts. It will occur in the Cinéma des Cinéastes (17th district), on Tuesday February the 12th, at 6 PM. A good occasion to watch the film on a big screen.

Hardly back from their location scouting and pre-casting in Pakistan, Çagla Zencirci & Guillaume Giovanetti presented their last middle-length film Ata in Clermont-Ferrand, where it was in official selection. Both the public and the professional feedbacks were very good, and the film started to attract interest. During the Festival, local media covered the film:

While Çagla Zencirci & Guillaume Giovanetti are in location scouting and pre-casting on stage for their Pakistani Road-Movie Tu Mera Dil, Tu Meri Jaan (You are my heart, you are my soul), the  project has been selected at the Co-production Market of the Alba Film Festival, in Northern Italy. 
They will attend in March the high level Festival in order to find new international partners.

In spite of he many Festivals in the world that selected the last but before fiction by Çagla Zencirci & Guillaume Giovanetti, the film had never been screened in Belgium. It will fill in the gap soon as it has been selected at the 0090 Antwerpen Film Festival, in January.

The middle-length film Ata, the last fiction by Çagla Zencirci & Guillaume Giovanetti, has just been selected to the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. Shot in super 16 mm with non-professional actors, it deals with the meeting in France of a Turkish lady and an Uyghur man from China. The Clermont-Ferrand Festival, which will celebrate this year its 30th anniversairy, is the world biggest short film event, where most of the professionals of this field gather.  Ata will have its world premiere there in February.

The last film by Çagla Zencirci & Guillaume Giovanetti, Ata, shot in super 16 mm with non-professional actors, has just received the Prize of the Best French Short Film, a Prize given by the public, and the Fresnes Award ex-aequo, at the Award Ceremony of the 30th Créteil International Women's Film Festival.

2 International Festivals have just selected Ata for their competition : it is the International Altkirch Short Film Festival, taking place in Eastern France in late April, and the Tangier International Mediterranean Film Festival, which will occur in June in the North of Morocco.

The last film by Çagla Zencirci & Guillaume Giovanetti, Ata, has just been purchased by 2 French channels : France 3, the National TV Channel, and Ciné Cinéma, a satellite Television Channel focusing on Movies. This will allow the film to broaden its audience, after having been awarded for its first screenings in Festivals. More news about the broadcasting dates very soon.

After having been online for one month on the website of the Japanese Festival Con-Can,  Ata has just been awarded the Audience Award, its first Prize abroad. The rest of the Awards will be announced in September in Tokyo after the Presentation of the film to the local public & Jury.

At the end of Montpellier Film Festival's competition, Ata has been awarded the Special Prize of the Jury, the "Silver Diderot". The President of the Jury was Henri Chapier, France's Mr Cinema for the last 3 decades, and among the members was the famous cinematographer Eric Guichard. It is the 4th Award in France, 4 months after the Premiere of the film in Clermont-Ferrand.

The Contis Film Festival has just selected, for the competition of its 13th edition which will occur in September, the last film by Çagla Zencirci & Guillaume Giovanetti. Ata will first be screened in Paris, in the Cinema "L'entrepôt" of the 14th district, and then will compete in the small town in the heart of the Landes, France's South West's Pine Forest.

The last film by Çagla Zencirci & Guillaume Giovanetti has just been selected to compete in the very good Japanese Festival Con-Can. Ata will be online for one month in June so that people can vote for the audience award, and it will then be presented in Tokyo in September 2008, competing for one of the Jury Prizes.

Ata has been lately selected to several international Festivals. In June, it will compete in the  Montpellier Short Film Festival (France), a town where Çagla & Guillaume have already been awarded, in the 23rd edition of the prestigious "Cinema Jove" festival of Valencia, one of Spain's main Cinema Event, in the main short film Festival in Bulgaria, the festival "In the Palace" of Balchik, and it will be screened in Bahrein in the frame of the Festival "Women Views". Many potential good moments in the life of the film.

Ata is once again screened in a Parisian theater. It will occur on Thursday, September the 18th at 6PM, in L'Entrepôt, a well-known theater of the 14th district. A good occasion to watch the film on 35 mm on a big screen. There will be a Prize of the Public, so please come along vote for the film! At 5 PM, there will be a reception where you'll be able to have a chat with the Codirectors.

Ata goes on its international career with competitions to come on 3 continents!
Indeed, the middle-length film, after it was presented in Spain, Bulgaria, Morocco, Japan and Bahrein, will first compete in the prestigious Cork Film Festival, Ireland, whose 53rd edition will happen in mid-october 2008. At the same time, the film will have its South-American Premiere, as it has been selected for the competition of Santiago Short Film Festival, Chili's main Festival. Finally, in November, it will travel around Turkey thanks to the "Festival On Wheels", from Ankara to Kars, next to the Armenian Border.

Ata is among the 8 short films to be part of the programmation of the 24th Gindou Cinema Meetings, a Festival taking place in South-Ouest of France, and well known for its relaxed atmosphere and its open-air screenings. The Codirectors will attend the festival, looking forward to meeting you there!

At the end of the International Contis Film Festival, on France's South West Atlantic Coast, Ata has been awarded the Cine Cinema Award. The Prize from this prestigious TV Channel will go along with an invitation of the film to the Brasilian Atibaia International Film Festival, occuring in this small city next to Sao Paulo in January 2009. Ata goes on travelling along the Mare Nostrum. It will first of all be screened in the Aubagne Film Festival in early October, before going along the coast to compete in the frame of the 14th Rome Mediterranean Film Festival, at the end of the month, for its Italian Premiere. Afterwards, it will be in Corinthia, Greece, as it has just been selected to the competition of the Corinthian International Film Festival.

The International Short Film Festival of Villeurbanne, in France, has just selected Ata. The film will compete in the city next to Lyon, for the 29th edition of the Festival, which is one of France's main ones. The co-directors will attend the Festival, with this particular feeling for Guillaume Giovanetti as Villeurbanne is his birth town.

Ata goes on its career in the native countries of Çagla Zencirci & Guillaume Giovanetti. The film will settle down in the south of France: first in October 2008, competing in the Gardanne Fall Cinematographic Festival, and then in December 2008, as it is part of the official selection of the 26th Aix-en-Provence Short Film Festival, one of France's main Festivals. In the meantime, the film will be presented in the Izmir Short Film Festival, in Turkey's 3rd biggest city, and then in the "Akbank" Short Film Festival in Istanbul in January 2009.

Three major Festivals of the countries of the Co-directors have selected Ata. The film will first be part of the selection of the 23rd International Brest Short Film Festival, one of France's best Festivals. In parallel, it will be presented in the frame of the non-competitive 20th Istanbul Short Film Festival. Finally, in December, it will compete in the prestigious Vendôme Film Festival, in the heart of France.

Ata will end up 2008 with a new Premiere, as the film will compete for the first time in Albania, in the frame of the International Tirana Film Festival. Then it will go on competing in familiar countries: first in the Vaulx-en-Velin International Short Film Festival, near Lyon, France, and then in Japan in Spring for the Sukagawa International Short Film Festival, in the North of Tokyo.

A few weeks after the film obtained the Public Award online, Ata has just been awarded the Grand Prix of the Prestigious Japanese Con-Can Festival. The Jury, made of Cinema professionals from Japan, China, Finland and the United States, chose the film among 80 shorts from all around the globe. Çagla Zencirci & Guillaume Giovanetti will be invited to Tokyo in December 2008 and will have the honour to receive their trophy during the Award Ceremony of the Festival.

The Juries of the 29th Villeurbanne International Film Festival have been seduced by Ata. The French Competition Jurors' laudatio mentionned the right tone of the film, the work on reality by the Co-Directors and the use of languages, and awarded Çagla Zencirci & Guillaume Giovanetti the Price of the Best Script 2008. In parallel, the Jury of the INSA Cine-Club gave a Special Mention to the Film. All this during a particularly intense Award Ceremony, due to the fact that Villeurbanne is Guillaume Giovanetti's native city.

The International Tirana Film Festival, Albania's main Festival, has just given the Special Mention of the Jury to Ata, which was competiting with more than 40 other films from all over the world. The Jury was made of professionals from the United States, Italy and Albania.

As Ata has been awarded the Grand Prix of the Con-Can Film Festival in Japan, the Co-directors have been invited to Tokyo for the Award Ceremony. It has been a very intense moment, where they could receive their trophy and meet many journalists and embassy representatives. During their stay in the Japanese Capital, they also had the opportunity to shoot a new short film, produced by the Festival ! The resulted film, named Six, is currently in post-production and should be ready by Spring 2009.  To be followed!
